MY TIME AT INFUSIO GETTING STEM CELLS

The sweetest team @ Infusio - I call them my “angels”!

Infusio made it a point to make me feel comfortable and welcomed the moment I arrived. The clinic was very calming and clean and there was always someone available to graciously answer questions or help with logistics.

The first week of treatment was focused on detox. I had already completed some treatments dealing with detoxing from heavy metals, assisting the liver using detox footbaths and supplements like NAC, pushes of glutathione, also colonics, enemas, infrared saunas and cavitation surgery. My LLMD prior to Infusio believed in an Eastern and Western medicine approach so I had already started the detox process. I think this is necessary to address before a stem cell treatment, to fully prepare yourself, and to have the best and most worthwhile experience.

The doctor at Infusio warned that it might be a rough week of detox dependent on how we reacted. The second day I was there was the toughest for me. The doctor knew I had a strong constitution and could take a heavy detox load, so he gave me a strong detox IV. Upon arriving home from the clinic that afternoon, I knew I would be spending the rest of the afternoon/evening in bed.

One of the most interesting happenings for me that day was the effect it had on my costochondritis. Months earlier, I had experienced terrible chest pains after running through an airport to catch a connecting flight while carrying a large/heavy bag. These pains felt like I was having a heart attack (sadly not an exaggeration) and it seemed like the Lyme continued to attack it as one of my “weak links”. Therefore, it caused me chronic discomfort and pain thereafter – which is fairly unnerving considering it was near my heart.

So on the detox day, at around 8PM that night, I had excruciating pain/costochondritis. I knew not to be alarmed because it was inflammation and not anything more serious. This went on for 15-20 minutes. I had always heard that during healing symptoms get worse before they get better. I could literally feel my body going through this. After my day of detox, the pain and discomfort had been eliminated at least 98% – to me, this was insane! In a good way…and a positive sign of the treatment to come.

The second week was focused on building and strengthening the immune system – a more feel good week than the prior. Throughout both weeks the treatment included multiple trips to the biomodulation laser bed, compression pants which was helpful with the lymphatic system, many IVs, shots, Global Diagnostics testing and treatment, craniosacral therapy, reflexology etc.

Late the second week was procedure time. Extracting the stem cells meant I had to go through liposuction. Since I had lost 10 lbs already I was hopeful they could find “good” fat, therefore indicating healthy stem cells. Apparently if you have a history or very poor nutrition or a drug addiction or habits, your fat won’t be as quality as the reverse lifestyle – probably not shocking. The doctor can tell the quality once extracted, usually by the color. If it’s a grey color and with no foam-like quality then it’s not as great. If it’s a yellow-like color + foam it’s more ideal – kind of gross // kind of interesting? They then wash away the fat to only contain the correct cells with necessary growth factors. A few hours later they use an IV to transfer the cells back into your system, therefore, allowing the cells to travel to all areas of the body in which there has been damage.

The procedure itself was great. No pain and was smooth and fairly quick. I was also scared to fly home by myself because my father was flying back to Florida. The flight ended up being fine but when I got home I had discomfort from the lipo for about a month. Not extreme, but I could feel it when sitting down or shifting while lying down. Apparently the thinner you are the more you feel the after effect. All in all, it was such a small sacrifice in the name of healing – all Lyme patients have experienced much worse!

I was very emotional before leaving Infusio – at points the tears didn’t stop. Some of it may have been hormones - but also, I didn’t want to leave this secure place, that felt like home, that promised me care – and not only care, but care beyond anything I had ever imagined from a knowledge and staying on the forefront of alternative medicine standpoint.

Of all the first class “care” I had received in the US, most doctors still acted like Lyme was the plague or were very defensive about their protocol. Thinking outside the box or keeping up with research and continuing to alter your treatment around your findings was sometimes out of the question. This is not how Infusio operates, in fact, they have the opposite viewpoint, which was so comforting. It further solidified the fact that I had made the right decision in being treated there.
